Bella loves Edward..she is uncertain of everything else in this world except for that one fact.

Bella always thought of herself as plain, nothing out of the ordinary.

Bella can pick out his face in a crowd, hear his voice in a roar of other conversations and with just a simple look she knew.

Offers and attention from other boys go unthwarted..she has no need for what they have to offer nor any interest for what they have to show.

She can't concentrate when she is without him, all her thoughts trace back to him and she can't concentrate when she is with him, just the sound of his voice the coldness of his touch sends her into a frenzy.

Bella knows yet Edward is unsure.

Edward has a secret, one that he feels is too dangerous to disclose to Bella.

He too finds Bella somewhat irresistable but he knows his limitations and with means to keep Bella safe he decides to ignore her at first.

Attraction sometimes can overcome such fears and Edward gives in..of course only to a certain extent.

Although Edward allows them to see one another he constantly reminds her that he is dangerous, they can never be, he is much too old for her and that there are so many others boys that are much better suited (safer) for her.

Bella is willing to give up everything in this world to be with Edward yet he is still unsure.

To the same measure Bella is the sunshine in Edward's day.

Edward hates the fact that he is the reason Bella is sad.

Bella tries to explain to Edward he completes her, makes her the happiest she has ever been, the only reason she is sad is that she never wants to be without him and the uncertainty of their relationship scares her.

The book ends with the two in an impasse...in which they are still seeing one another, Bella still sure as ever and Edward still unwilling to experience.
